Patricia worked at TU Dublin formerly (DIT) for 37 years and has recently retired. She now works as an Occupational Health and Safety Consultant and Corporate Trainer (Self-employed). She specialises in chemical safety training.

She has a PhD in chemistry from TCD and is a chartered chemist. She has a Diploma in Safety Health and Welfare at Work from UCD and is a chartered member of IOSH. She also has an MBA from DIT.

While at TU Dublin she lectured in inorganic chemistry and chemical health and safety and has spent many years working with academia and industry in developing and delivering programmes in Health and Safety including the M.Sc in EHS at TU Dublin. She currently lectures on the Diploma in Safety Health and Welfare at Work at UCD. She works with the Ibec academy delivering training in chemical safety.
