The Pharma Industry Awards 2026 has appointed Ivan Coulter, Founder and Managing Director of Eden BioPharma Limited, to its judging panel, adding a pharmaceutical and biotechnology entrepreneur of considerable standing to the evaluation of Ireland's leading pharma and life sciences submissions ahead of the gala on 26th November at the Johnstown Estate Hotel.

Ivan Coulter has spent more than two decades building and scaling innovation-led life sciences businesses, working across small molecules, biologics, advanced therapies, gastrointestinal disease, cardiovascular medicine, vaccines, microbiome science, and precision fermentation. His experience spans the full range of what it takes to advance a life sciences business from concept to clinical reality, including fundraising of more than €100 million, licensing, mergers and acquisitions, company formation, clinical and regulatory strategy, and the progression of assets through Phase I and Phase II development. He has also contributed to orphan-drug designation strategies with both the FDA and the EMA, and currently holds director, advisory, and venture roles across the biotech sector.

That breadth of experience, spanning scientific, commercial, regulatory, and financial dimensions of the life sciences industry, gives Ivan a perspective on pharmaceutical excellence that is rarely found in a single judge. For entrants to the Pharma Industry Awards 2026, his presence on the panel means that submissions will be assessed by someone who understands both the ambition required to build in this sector and the rigour demanded at every stage of the process.

His academic credentials are equally strong. Ivan holds a PhD in Cancer Research and Genetics from University College Dublin, an MBA from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, and a BSc with Honours in Pharmacology, a combination that reflects the scientific depth and commercial acuity that have defined his career across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology landscape.
