Nicola Rice of Innopharma Technical Services has been named winner of the Best Education & Mentoring Leadership award at the Women in Pharma Awards 2026, recognised for a clear, well-structured approach to pharmaceutical training and workforce development that addressed the evolving needs of the industry through digital and hybrid learning models with demonstrated impact.

Rice's submission presented a body of work that combined strategic thinking with practical delivery. Her use of digital and hybrid learning frameworks reflects an educator who understands how the pharmaceutical workforce learns today and has built her programmes accordingly, ensuring that training remains accessible, relevant, and effective across a sector where the pace of change demands continuous professional development.

Judges were clear in their assessment. "Nicola Rice showcased strong leadership in the pharmaceutical training sector, with a clear and well-structured approach that addressed every criterion effectively. Her use of digital and hybrid learning models demonstrates a smart response to the evolving needs of the industry. Supported by a strong presentation and clear evidence of impact, her work reflects a deep, sustained commitment to education, mentoring, and workforce development," the panel stated.

The Best Education & Mentoring Leadership award recognises female education professionals and mentors in pharmaceutical services who have played a key leadership role in implementing or improving academic standards, assessed across career progression, contributions to educational standards, recent projects and initiatives, and the quality of leadership demonstrated throughout.

The Women in Pharma Awards 2026 ceremony took place on 29 April 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry.
