Applauded for creative breakthroughs in 2025, Viatris Little Island secured the Pharma Project of the Year – Large award at the Pharma Industry Awards 2025, recognised for its meticulous design, installation, and qualification of a new De-Ionised Water (DIW) generation and distribution system within a live API plant.
The large-scale engineering project was undertaken to enhance the primary operating plant’s ability to maintain consistent supply while improving efficiency, flexibility, and compliance with stringent pharmaceutical standards. Delivering the project in a fully operational environment required precision planning, innovative engineering solutions, and careful risk management to ensure continuous production without disruption.
Judges praised the team for their exemplary execution and operational mastery: “Viatris Little Island impressed the panel with its meticulous approach to completing a highly complex project within a live operational plant. The implementation of the new DIW system demonstrates outstanding technical competence, cross-functional collaboration, and innovative problem-solving under high-stakes conditions,” the judging panel said.
The recognition reflects the rising standards across the Pharma Industry Awards, where winners are celebrated for combining technical innovation, operational resilience, and measurable impact on plant performance and pharmaceutical excellence. Viatris Little Island’s achievement illustrates how precision engineering, strategic planning, and collaborative execution can set new benchmarks for large-scale pharma projects.
